Building site manager in the office of Stücheli Architects in Zurich 1971-1974, mainly for the construction of the bank building Bahnhofstrasse Nr. 1 in Zurich. MBA course and diploma at IMD International Management Development Institute in Lausanne 1975.
After 1976 leading management functions in the Spaltenstein group of construction-, general contracting and real estate companies. Development and realization of large commercial buildings and condominium projects, e.g TMC Textile- and Fashion Center in Opfikon-Zurich (1976-1981), Stadelhofer Passage in Zurich (1977-1984), Galleria bank back-office building in Opfikon-Zurich (1984-1993), World Trade Center Zurich building including center management set-up (1990-1995), Chairman of the World Trade Center Zurich ltd 1992-2001, Business Park Swing Wallisellen (1998-2001, first building with Microsoft as a tenant).
After 1977 set-up of a professional real estate services organisation within the Spaltenstein group of companies. Development, marketing and realization of numerous housing and commercial projects in the eastern and central Swizerland area. Edition of the first office market report for the Greater Zurich Area in 1991. 1999 management-buy-out and chairman of the legally independent company and member of Colliers International 1999-2006. Set-up and president of GSU society for urban development 1989-2007. As a president of the Bellevue-Stadelhofen retailers association co-initiator of the Opéra parking and Sechseläutenplatz in Zurich 1998-2007 (inauguration 2014). Since 2004 member of RICS. After 2005 co-founder of a retail location consultancy, 2008 founder of markimo ltd property.location.positioning, project development, project management and consultancy for investors and builder-owners.
